Are you a budding scientists or researcher aged under 18? Do you have a flair for projects? Keep reading to find out how you could win $$$ and contribute to CMT awareness. Kay Boreham was a long-term committee member and supporter of CMT Australia helping establish the organisation over 30 years ago. She passed away in July last year and her husband Conrad has asked that any donations given in her memory be allocated to the CMT Aussie Kids program. We are delighted to announce the Kay Boreham Memorial Research Fund.

PURPOSE

The purpose of the Project:

* To encourage youth with CMT under the age of 18 years to explore CMT related research topics that are relevant and meaningful to them.

* To offer opportunities for the ‘kids’ to present their research works to a wider audience.

* To engage with Medical and Allied Health Professionals and interact with them in regard to the judging of the award.

* To more widely promote the CMT Aussie Kids Program, one that was very close to Kay’s heart, increasing awareness of the challenges our youth with CMT face and the support available through the CMT Aussie Kids Program.

PROCESS

All youth with CMT under the age of 18 years are invited to submit an essay or project. The topic is open and can cover any area of living with CMT, from socio-economic impact, to using technology to aid people with CMT. The topic must clearly outline the practical, research or social impact on people with CMT. The essay must be no more than 2,500 words and must be their own work. A project not in essay format must be able to be submitted electronically and any written support must be within the word limit.

All submission should be emailed to by the closing date

MONDAY, 8TH AUGUST 2022 (8/8/22)

JUDGING

Judging would be done by specialists in the area covered by the submission, along with CMT Australia committee members.

USE OF THE SUBMISSIONS

The submitted works could be included on our CMT Australia website and social media and potentially any Webinar / Coffee & Chat opportunities we feel are appropriate. We envisage our winner(s) being able to present and/or be announced at our annual CMT Australia Seminar / Webinar in September each year.
